SECOND DRAVA FISH&DISH EVENT HELD IN PRELOG

Gastronomic event called Drava Fish&Dish was held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, in the Sports and Recreation Zone Prelog. The day started at 9 am with the Cup of the Town of Prelog in Sport Fishing, where the rods were crossed by experienced fishermen from the fishing association Marble Trout (Glavatica) from Prelog, Zander (Smuđ) from Draškovec, Unity (Sloga) from Oporovec and Perch (Ostriž) from Cirkovljan.

The best were the members of Zander, and the most fish were caught by Željko Slaviček from Draškovec. After the announcement of the winners, members of the mentioned fishing associations, reinforced by members of the Nautical Club Swan (Labud) from Prelog, began the preparation of traditional fish dishes which were then distributed to craving visitors. They prepared Drava fish, grilled trout, sprats, fish stew, but special attraction was the forked carp.

Međimurje fish keepers showed interested visitors some of their equipment and activities they carry out in order to protect the existing fish stock from poachers. The event was complemented by the members of the Rainbow (Duga) Club with their art workshop led by the Art Association of Lower Međimurje. Josip Horvat Majzek exhibited his photographs of 68 different species of Drava fish, and Goran and Andrea Šafarić were in charge of the good musical atmosphere.

The Drava Fish&Dish event was now held for the second year in a row. Both participants and visitors expressed their satisfaction and desire for the event to continue in the future.
