A THREE-DAY ROWING SCHOOL HELD IN PRELOG

About twenty participants participated in the three-day rowing school for adults, which was held in the afternoon hours on 14, 15 and 17 June 2022 in the Sports and Recreation Zone Prelog. The school was organized by the Town of Prelog in cooperation with More Adventure Ltd., and most of the participants were members of the Nautical Club Labud (Swan) from Prelog.

Experienced instructors Nikola Želimorski and Nenad Ujlaki dedicated the first day of rowing school to the theoretical part, i.e. they talked about everything we need to know before we even begin rowing on rivers. Special emphasis was placed on safety because this is a particularly important topic for Nikola Želimorski as a member of the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service.

On the second day, twenty participants tried team rowing in a rafting boat and canoe, and individual rowing on the stand-up paddle boards. The emphasis, however, was on the canoe, which was envisaged as the basis of this school. On the third day, it was time to go experience the Drava River in rafting boats. Participants went through the hidden bayous of the Drava River and concluded that we could all appreciate much more the natural beauty we have.

In the end, all parties expressed satisfaction with the three-day event, but also hope that this is not the last but only the first step in the stronger development of rowing in Prelog, and all of Međimurje.
