GASTRONOMIC DRAVA FISH&DISH EVENT HELD IN PRELOG

Drava Fish&Dish event was held for the first time on Saturday, June 19, 2021 in the Sports and Recreation Zone Marina in Prelog. The event was organized by the Town of Prelog and Keder Ltd. as part of the project under acronym AQUA ADVENTURES, which is co-financed by the European Union from the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Co-operation Programme 2014-2020.

At the event, four fishing sport associations from the area of ​​the Town of Prelog – Glavatica (Marble Trout) from Prelog, Ostriž (Perch) from Cirkovljan, Smuđ (Zander) from Draškovec and Sloga (Unity) from Oporovec - and Nautical Club Labud (Swan) from Prelog prepared traditional fish dishes which were then distributed to participants and visitors. They prepared traditional fiš dish (spicy fish stew), fried small Drava fish, fried carp, grilled carp, fried catfish steaks and distributed a total of more than 100 portions.

Gamekeepers from the Alliance of Sport Fishing Associations of Međimurje County showed interested visitors some of their equipment and introduced them to the activities they carry out in order to preserve the existing fish stock. The Croata Insulanus Museum from Prelog and the Art Association of Lower Međimurje have prepared an art workshop for members of the Club Duga (Rainbow), which brings people with intellectual disabilities together. The Tamburitza ensemble Frikovi was in charge of the good musical atmosphere by performing a three-hour traditional music program.

The event was well attended and expected number of visitors was exceeded. The event was positively evaluated by participants and visitors, and many expressed a wish that the Drava Fish&Dish event becomes a traditional event in the Sports and Recreation Zone Marina in Prelog even after the project under the acronym AQUA ADVENTURES is completed.
